Geeks Ahoy: Argo, better resumes, and the usual hysteria

Engadget gives a peek at the possible “iPod killer” from Microsoft. Code named Argo, it’s supposedly wifi-enabled. To make the connection for you, that translates to downloading songs directly from the Internets to the player. I love my iPod but…

Solution Watch discovered a site I’m betting will be in heavy use soon: Emurse. Create and store your resume (or multiple resumes) online, have a single URL to refer people to for viewing, track who’s viewing it, send follow up thank you notes – in short, manage your job search in one spot. Perfect for all of us who frantically update a 5-yr old resume when a job pops up, only to have the attachment come through with wonky formatting and no idea in which abyss it landed.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: “concerned parents” will be the death of Internet freedom. Rather than view these videos as opportunities for discussion about bizarre and dangerous corners of the world (though one mother in the article does seem to have a clue), too many parents think the solution is to bury their heads in the sand – and dig a hole for everyone else while they’re at it.
